The IASJ Research Journal is an online journal dedicated to 'applied jazz research'. It is published by Grand Valley State University Libraries, Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.

The IASJ Research Journal:

• a forum for the latest developments in jazz performance and jazz education
• a platform for scientific publications in the field of applied jazz research
• a worldwide exchange center for new ideas and insights in jazz performance and jazz education
• an open space for master and PhD students to present the results of their studies
• a continuation of the discussions of the Ongoing Dialogues at IASJ Jazz Meetings
• an integration of the activities at IASJ Research Conferences.

Grand Valley State University (GVSU) and the International Association of Schools of Jazz (IASJ) collaborate to publishing the journal.
